Policy Purchase & Eligibility
1. Which Boost ewallet type is eligible to purchase Beyond Travel insurance?
All wallet type (Basic, Premium & Premium Pro) is eligible to purchase Beyond Travel Insurance
2. Who can be covered by Beyond Travel Insurance?
a) Child - Entry age between nine (9) days old and seventeen (17) years old.
b) Adult - Entry age between eighteen (18) years old and eighty (80) years old.
c) A Malaysia citizen, a permanent resident in Malaysia or a foreigner legally residing in Malaysia.
Please note that the policyholder or the primarry traveller of a child (who is the insured person) must be his or her parent or guardian.
3. Who can purchase Beyond Travel Insurance?
a) A person aged between 18 years old to 80 years old.
b) A Malaysian citizen, a permanent resident in Malaysia or a foreigner legally residing in Malaysia.
4. Can I purchase Beyond Travel for another person?
Yes, each Boost eWallet account can purchase for another person or a group of maximum 20 persons per purchase who are travelling on the same time.
However, the group travel option is accessible only for users meeting the following criteria:
a) The primary traveler must be a Boost account holder.
b) The primary traveler must have completed eKYC.
c) The primary traveller has to be the person travelling together with the insured persons.
5. Can the Primary Traveller be a non-Boost account holder?
Yes, a non-Boost account holder can be the primary traveler; however, they are not permitted to purchase a group policy (i.e. add travel buddy).
6. How will the premium be charged to me?
Premium will be charged according to the number of insured people.
7. Do I need to have a Boost eWallet account to purchase Beyond Travel?
Yes, Beyond Travel policy is only available for purchase via the Boost eWallet app.
8. What will I be receiving after I purchase Beyond Travel in Boost eWallet?
You will be receiving a certificate of Insurance and the policy wordings in app and via email within the same day. If you do not receive it, you may contact Great Eastern customer service representatives at 03-4259 8888 from 8:30am to 5:15pm (Monday to Friday, except for public holidays) or email at gicare-my@greateasterngeneral.com.
You can also view your purchased policy details in the Boost eWallet under My Active Coverage in the Insurance app tile.
9. When will my coverage commence and cease?
For International Travel:
The coverage will commence from the time the insured person(s) leaves his/her home for a direct trip to the place of embarkation in Malaysia to travel to the intended destination(s) out of Malaysia and in any event not more than twenty-four (24) hours prior to booked departure time and ceases on the following, which ever occurs first:
(i) the expiry of the period of insurance;
(ii) the insured person(s) return(s) home; or
(iii) twenty-four (24) hours upon arrival in Malaysia.
For one-way international travel, cover will cease seventy-two (72) hours after the scheduled time of arrival at the final destination abroad. Any stop-over for one-way travel should not exceed thirty (30) days.
For Domestic Travel:
Commencing from the time the insured person(s) leaves his/her home for a direct trip to the intended destination(s) in Malaysia and ceases on the following, whichever occurs first:
(i) the expiry of the period of insurance;
(ii) the insured person(s) return(s) home.'
10. Can my policy be renewed at the end of coverage period?
No, this is a non-renewable insurance. You may purchase another Beyond Travel insurance again for your next trip.
Claims
1. How do I file a travel insurance claim?
1. On your Insurance homepage, go to “My Active Coverage” section and click on “>” icon
2. Under the 'Active' tab, find the policy that you want to submit your claim and click 'View'. If is expired/inactive coverage, you can find it under the ""History""' tab.
3. Click on 'Claim Now'
4. Follow the step-by-step guide on how to make claims submission to Great Eastern Website as shown.
